Abstract
Purpose: To investigate the usefulness of cancellous bone graft from distal radius in hand surgery requied bone graft and to compare the results with the literatures.

Materials and Methods: We retrospectively studied 33 cases in hand surgery which underwent cancellous bone graft from distal radius with average 14 months follow-up period. Twenty six cases were nonunion or delayed union of scaphoid, three cases were nonunion or malunion of metacarpal bone. And remaing four cases were nonunion or enchondroma in phalanx. We evaluated union rate, the amount of harvested bone, complication of recipient site and donor site.

Results: The union rate was 87.8%. The average amount of harvested bone was 1.2 cc. The complications of recipient site were infection. That of donor site were pain (two cases) during 6 months and wound adhesion (five cases).

Conclusion: Cancellous bone graft from distal radius in hand surgery considered to be useful to union as well as to decrease donor site morbidity.
